Manologues started as a forward thinking workshop conceived by Kevin Cannon consisting of five biographical monologues at the Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack, New York on September 6th, 2005.

The workshop sparked much debate over this type of forum dedicated to men expressing their development through real life biographical experiences.  There was so much interest that Kevin decided to enhance the workshop into a collection of 8 monologues at the Wings Theatre on Christopher Street in NYC’s West Village for a two night fundraiser for the Red Cross’s Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund on October 14th and 15th  2005.

After raising $10,250 (of which 100% went to the Red Cross's Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund) by selling out both nights and receiving standing ovations, Kevin and Teddy Angelus, Jr.  realized that Manologues filled a void in the underrepresented landscape of live theatre from a masculine perspective.

And this was only the beginning...
